ISKCON Bangalore honours musicians

Express News Service , The New Indian Express: ISKCON Sri Radha Krishna Mandir’s Sri Krishna Kalakshetra has been
organising various cultural events during its main festivals like brahmotsava, krishna janmashtami,
vaikunta ekadashi, navaratri sangeetotsav, krishna leela sangeetostav, purandara saptaha, geeta saptaha and so on for the past several years. Wherein not only
renowned artistes perform but, but an opportunity is also provided to all upcoming artistes to showcase their talents at the Sangeeta Seva for the pleasure of their lordship to Sri Radha Krishna Chandra and their devotees.
Sri Krishna Kalakeshtra has been conferring the title asthana vidwan/asthana vidushi on the eminent musicians of our country for their contribution to the preservation of music and culture. This is their unique way of recognising budding talent.So far classical musicians -Padma Bhushan Sangeeta Kalanidhi Dr R K Srikantan, Padma Bhushana, Dr L Subramani, Padmashree Dr Kadri Gopalnath, Sangeeta Chudamani Prof R Visweswaran, Nadabrahma Vidwan Kurudi Venkannachar, Sangeeta Kalarathna Vidwan A V Anand, Ubhayagana Vishudi Dr Shyamala G Bhave and Mridangam Chakravathy Vidwan T A S Mani were conferred with this Award.
For the year 2011 also Sri Krishna Kalakeshtra will be honoring six distingused musicians of our state -Ganakalabushan Vidwan R K Padmanabha, Sangeera Vidyanidhi Dr Vidyabushan, Karnataka Kalashree C Ramadas, Ganakalashree Dr T S Satyavathi and Ganakalashree Vidushi MS Sheela by conferring the title of asthana vidwan/vidhushi.
